Fair Credit Rating Loans: Assistance For One Who Has Fair Credit Status [creditdiagnosis]

Question by Ted C: do i need to freeze my credit status? I was recently the target of an online 'phishing' scam. This breach included my name, address, age and occupation but not my social security number. I am low-income, never had a credit card and not likely to apply for one soon. Is it a good idea to ask the credit bureaus to freeze my credit now to guard against possible identity theft? Is there also included a safeguarded option to re-activate my status in future when I am ready to apply for credit? Peace. Best answer for do i need to freeze my credit status?:

Here's the FTC's website on credit freezes and notifications: Note that there's no charge for asking the credit bureaus for a fraud alert, but there may be a charge for freezing or unfreezing credit. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/credit-freeze.html http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/ It sounds like you fit the following category: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/consumers/compromised.html I'd urge you to put at least a fraud alert on your credit files -- see the phone numbers here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/infocompalrt.shtm I had to do this after a computer was stolen from an insurance company with my mother's information on it. I found that notifying Equifax by phone was pretty painless, and they take care of notifying the other two credit bureaus. Note that after filing a fraud alert, you can ask for copies of your credit reports from each credit bureau -- you've got 90 days to do it for a free report. You're otherwise entitled to one free credit report from each bureau a year. They'lll also sell you your FICO score if you want. Again, dealing with the credit bureaus by phone appears to be the least-hassle option. Good luck!

You can put the account on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus for you at no charge. You have to renew it every 90 days. When you're ready to apply, just call and have the fraud alert removed.

There's a bunch of blather at the end of this video that I don't particularly remember. All I do remember is that it came out of post-production fine and I'm too lazy to rerewatch it. Late because I kinda forgot about this due to real-life shenanigans. Long story short: I believe one of my (professional) job references has been stabbing me in the back all summer and learning about this and deciding what to do about it has been a bit distracting. (You can guess about the status of my app.) This is all I will say on this subject because YouTube is not my bitchblog. It has also occurred to me that, given my chosen profession, posting a ton of Holdover videos in a public place like YouTube with my voice attached may not be the best idea. As such, I'm probably not going to LP it. Scarlet Symphony is still planned, however, and I recently ran across a Touhou Bomberman clone that was apparently released at C76, so I'll throw that into the spot Holdover just vacated. All this is assuming, of course, that I can remain NOT addicted to Phantom Brave, which I just picked up very recently and am greatly enjoying. Anyway, now that this LP is done, go watch ReisenMell's storyline retelling with both Spiritia and Grolla. www.youtube.com
