The balance rarely exceeds $ 2000. I was told to lower the maximum allowable limits to under $ 10000 each to increase my credit score. Is this true? ... The scoring model looks at how much of the available credit you use on revolving loans such as credit ... Cut Available Credit to Boost Credit Score?

Zero Limits presents not only a powerful, documented case for the positive attributes of the "power of the mind," it most importantly shows you how to find that power within yourself. In this somewhat compelling book, Dr. Joe Vitale and Dr. Ihaleakala Hew (pronounced who) Len take us on an incredible journey that tells of the miraculous healing by noted psychologist Dr. Hew Len of a complete ward of criminally insane patients who were diagnosed as incurable. It tells of taking total responsibility for ones life and ultimately realizing that our own environment is indeed our very own special creation and you have the power to change it. How or better yet, why is our environment our own special creation? Dr. Hew Len would say "why, to teach us what we need to learn about ourselves". This book states that anyone can learn to clear negativity from the subconscious mind in the moment and that this simple act will indeed change your environment for the better.

We can speak abstractly about this subject 24/7 but to prove it to yourself you have to try it.

In this book the authors say that it's necessary to take complete responsibility for the life you find yourself currently involved with. They state that we're all born with a victim's consciousness and that throughout childhood it seems we have no say over anything. Children don't have much say over their lives because they obviously need protection from themselves but sometimes it's done in an ineffective manner leaving deep rooted scars, i.e. ingrained negativity. Once programmed with a crippling emotional and mental attitude it's very difficult to extract one's self. It becomes a repeated re-action to events in one's life which just keeps re-enforcing the problem.

Dr. Hew Len says you're re-acting to a memory, a past incident rather then what's happening  "in the moment."

When choices we've made turn out other then what we had consciously intended it becomes a comforting habit to point a finger at someone else and not take responsibility for our own mess. That comforting habit places you in the mental attitude of a "Victim". The authors ask you to think about this thought for a moment.  If you perceive yourself as a victim you have no control over your life so how in the world can you do anything to change it? That means "things" are being done to you by everyone else and in fact it might seem like the whole world is out to get you. If you're in a victim's consciousness you're powerless to stop what's happening simply because you're conditioned to believe you can't and why? Because it's always someone else's fault right? You might even like it because you don't have to take responsibility for anything, but eventually the "hurts" pile so high that you can't take it anymore. That's when you begin to realize that something's terribly wrong with the way your life is going. That's when you get out of the sand box and begin looking for something to change yourself from within and of course that's where it's at.  We all come to this point eventually. Joe Vitale says the only reason we don't attract the things in life we say we want is because we have counter-intentions in the subconscious mind.  I can't go into this subject in depth here, I would have to write a book but...it's already been written and is said to be one of the best self help books available.

Zero Limits by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew (pronounced who) Len and Joe Vitale is one of the most remarkable books I have ever read. It teaches you a very simple technique to rid one of sub-conscious negativity "in the moment."  Negativity and resentment floating up from the sub-conscious (it does all day long) and negativity that you've come face to face with in the person of someone else becomes ridiculously easy to eliminate from yourself and Dr. Hew Len says it will eliminate it from those around you also. I also know it sounds far out but in "new age thinking" everyone seems to reiterate the so-called fact that we create our own environment.  Well, this technique seems to seems to prove itself to be quite valid even if you don't understand what's taking place. However, once you have a somewhat thorough understanding of the process and accept responsibility for the life you've created the process will quickly "clear" your subconscious or, as Dr. Hew Len says "clean" the subconscious. The book contains the updated version of this technique and is spoken of as one of the best self help books available. On the other hand there will always be those who will put a negative spin on everything because that's where they're coming from. If we do indeed create our own environment then I for one would much rather become involved in the positive spin. This books claims to be able to  help anyone interested in self help and self improvement  to come face to face with themselves in a very positive manner thereby paving the way for personal empowerment and faster manifestation of life's gifts.

Question by : I have 100% Credit Available, but my score is 578, how do I increase my score within a year? I have 100% credit available and have zero debt. ON MY CREDIT: In April 2010, I paid and canceled my credit card. It was maxed out, and I was behind on my payments, so when I came into money I paid it off, and then they told me I had to cancel it and they would not give me credit even though it was paid in full. So I did. My credit report states that it is current closed. In March one of my medical bills went into collections for $ 147.00. I paid that in full. My credit says it is potentially negative closed. (Have to call and find out why it has not been “current closed”) Other then that the only thing I have on my credit is school loans that are current, but I do not owe yet. My score is only 578, and has increased 30 points this year since these were paid, I want to get a 750 score by July 2011. I need help. I have applied for a credit card for poor-bad credit and was denied. I have applied for a secured credit card for $ 300 and was denied. What can I do to build my credit? What’s the next step? I want to be 750 or at least in the 700s by July 2011. Serious answers ONLY please. Ok, thanks for relpies, and these are answers..... The credit card is already closed. There is nothing I can do about that. It was closed in good standing. I have already applied for credit cards, both unsecure and secure and I am denied. The first pIace I tried was my bank and they denied me. I have also tried the credit unions. So no more suggesting getting a credit card, because I CANT. Thanks. I have applied for Kohls, Buckle, and ect. before and I am denied. Thanks. As far as credit goes, according to my report I have 100% available credit. I have NO debt at ALL. Thanks. I need to know what to do, when I CANT get a credit card of ANY kind. Thanks. Best answer for I have 100% Credit Available, but my score is 578, how do I increase my score within a year?:

keep you a credit card open and make small purchase and pay. In time you will see an increase I promise.I was down tha same road with a 530 credit score 2 years ago now im at 645.try www.creditone.com they usuall help you rebuild credit and the card is not one of those where u have all those fees before you even activate it. Also Fingerhut they have a good little credit account that if u pay on time you will get increases.I opened account and 2 months later I was raised $ 200.00 just by paying on time for a $ 30.00 purchase.Last resort try Continental Finance they are those one who will give u credit but at a price. Good Luck

Student loans - indicate that you are young and your credit file is prob. 'young' as well, getting back into the 700's may be tough for you especially in such a short period of time. You will want to concentrate on getting a mix of credit - store credit cards, high limit MC or Visa, car loan etc... - with good payment history. Since you have been turned for a secured credit card recently I would suggest you find a local credit union that you qualify for who offers secured credit cards and secured loans, or better yet a credit rebuilder program. These programs are geared to educate and form a plan to help you manage your credit and build a strong score. There is a list of secured credit cards and credit rebuilder programs at Secrets to Improve your Credit Score blog - http://www.secretstoimproveyourcredit.blogspot.com/ Good Luck.

A credit score is based on a 12 month activity. It usually goes up between 5 to 10% month. If you're employed at least 12 to 18 months and have $ 500 in a saving account, you should be able to convert it into a secured credit card. Most banks should be able to set it up for you but make sure they belong to the credit bureau. Use it for gas and small items and pay the balance the following month.

What credit do you have available? If your only credit card is closed, you have no credit available. If your credit card was maxed, paying it off helped your score. Carrying credit card balances of more than 30% of your limit, hurts your score. Paying 'em off gives you a score boost. However, it sounds like you had some skipped/late payments on that credit card and are lucky it was closed in good standing. The medical bill was a collection account which is a negative. There is no closed status. If you paid, it should reflect paid but paying did not help your score. The damage will remain for the balance of the 7 year reporting period. There is no way you are going to go from 578 to 750 or even 700 by 2011. You need at least 24 months of consistent, on time payment history to improve your score. You need open, active accounts to do this and you've even been turned down for a secured credit card. Wait about 6 months and try again for a secured credit card. Check with your bank. If you already have a relationship with them, they may be more willing to extend a credit card. When you get the credit card, use it and pay it in full every month.
