I work for a company as a bookkeeper but many times when i recive a remmitance advice they actully send it to credit control ..are they the same ? A bookkeeper collects, categorizes, and records financial data - usually up through trial balance. The accountant then takes the reports and uses them to make management decisions and to do annual taxes and audits. It sounds like the credit department is focused more on obtaining necessary information to be sure that any credit extended is substantiated and secured. And possibly to ensure that the amount of receivables (credit extended) is within the limit set by the accountants or managers. With your training as a bookkeeper you could probably work in the credit controlling department, but they may not be able to do your job - depending on experience etc. Good luck! Andi, HR Specialist
